Our Leadership

Chairman, CEO & Visionary, Jack Steele

Jack SteeleJack is not just ActiveStrategy’s visionary – he’s a strategy execution guru who is absolutely passionate about getting clients results.

In addition to being a former Baldrige examiner, to date Jack has helped organizations achieve four Baldrige Awards, five Baldrige site visits, two Deming Prizes, six Florida Sterling Awards, two California CAPE Awards, as well as breakthrough results for too many companies to name.

Jack first became a practitioner of performance excellence, Balanced Scorecards, and strategy execution more than two decades ago, when he contributed to Florida Power & Light’s Deming Quality Management Award win in 1989, making Florida Power & Light the first company outside of Japan to win this prestigious prize. Since then, Jack has applied strategy execution methodologies in other executive and consulting positions, leading in some cases to doubled revenue, profits, and total market value.

Jack’s degrees in Industrial and Systems Engineering (from Penn State and University of South Florida, respectively) speak to his focus on building performance that will endure for the long term. Just as an engineer designing a bridge has to consider how it will be used now, as well as how it will need to function for decades ahead, Jack designs and implements strategy execution frameworks for the long haul.

Speaking of the long haul, Jack is a co-founder of ActiveStrategy and thus has been with us since before day one. His wide-ranging knowledge, practical experience, and focus on results are baked right into all of our solutions.

More on Jack Steele and the Origins of ActiveStrategy

Founder, President & CTO, Jeffrey Bunting

Jeff BuntingJeffrey is a leading thinker on the future of technology-enabled strategy execution. In fact, he was one of the very first in the world to think about improving these types of methodologies through software.

Jeffrey’s career sprang from the mathematics department at East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania, but he quickly discovered that the applications of math and science were what inspired him. This led him toward computer science and his passion for applying technology has grown exponentially to this day.

Jeffrey’s “Aha!” moment came in 1999 when he recognized that software could accelerate the adoption of, and improve the results achieved from, strategy execution.

This epiphany led to the formation of ActiveStrategy. Ever since he conceived of the company, Jeffrey’s creative mind has been behind ActiveStrategy’s progression to its position today as a leading strategy execution solutions company.

Though Jeffrey is a technologist at heart, he has that difficult-to-find ability to relate technology to real people and genuine business needs. He’s a compelling speaker and is stunningly effective at communicating complex ideas simply.

Jeffrey’s most recent exploits include executive stewardship of ActiveStrategy’s technology roadmap, as well as in-depth strategic work with clients across the healthcare value chain.
