Job Description:
The Project Management Associate supports the project management team engaged with multiple, on-going, business application implementation projects with external clients. Responsibilities include: planning, scheduling, and coordination of project tasks and resources; cost/schedule status reporting, client/stakeholder coordination and interaction; assisting project team in activities such as consulting workshops, software configuration, training, data services, and technical support as required to deliver an on-time, on-budget, and high-quality solution to the client. The Project Management Associate will adhere to a standard set of practices based on CMMI and PMI best practices that ensure the integrity and quality of project artifacts and deliverables.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support multiple customer solution implementation and consulting projects following established standard practices and processes
- Act as a Project Team member supporting and coordinating senior project managers and consultants in delivery of client software & consulting solution implementations from kick off meeting, to turnover and support
- Develop detailed project plans, work breakdown structures, and budget tracking documents; prepare and present project status reports
- Schedule, coordinate and assist in the facilitation of client activities and training efforts needed for the implementation
- Assist clients with the configuration of the application based on their workflow and business needs
- Communicate data integration requirements to the Data Integration Services group, prepare data upload templates, and ensure that data integrations are completed correctly and on time
- Support training of customer user teams, both classroom and field
- Communicate status throughout the project lifecycle to all stakeholders
- Function as project support contact with client in absence of project leader
Job Requirements:
- BS / BA degree in Computer Science, Business Management or related field
- Minimum 1-2 years experience and demonstrated success in a project management role involving consulting/business application software implementations
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Project and other MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
- Light technical skills (familiarity with SQL/XML/XSL), database skills (SQL Server, Oracle), desirable
- Must have a solid track record of being a team player
- Demonstrated ability to develop realistic project schedules and budgets
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet multiple deadlines successfully
- Good presentation skills, strong written & oral communication skills
- Good problem-solving skills
- Classroom training experience or aptitude for user application training
- Ability to manage client expectations
- Prior experience as a Business Analyst would provide a basis for understanding customer requirements and translating them into system functionality
- Prior experience working in a growing, fast-paced organization with a dynamic environment
- Results-driven and execution-oriented personality, ready to step in and make things happen
- Desire to advance to project manager/consulting role based on demonstrated abilities and team work
