Senior Business Analyst - PA Office

Job Description:
The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for working with customers and internal personnel to gather user and business requirements, complete use case analysis, and write use case documentation. This professional will focus on understanding the clients' business needs and how our solutions meet their needs. The position reports directly to the Sr. Director of Product Management, Product Development & Technical Services.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Conduct customer, market, and competitive research in order to deeply understand market requirements and customers needs
  • Work closely with cross-functional leaders within marketing, sales, client services and consulting to prioritize enhancements and coordinate feature implementation
  • Gather, analyze and document detailed understanding of requests and requirements from a variety of sources, including company management, user groups, customer support, pre/post sales personnel and the customers themselves
  • Own the “requirements” process from needs assessment through product launch for assigned product area / functionality
  • Develop SRS's that identify market opportunities, critical business drivers, and product definition
  • Work with the Development and QA teams to ensure completeness and understanding of detailed systems specifications, workflows and UI designs
  • Become a product subject matter expert
  • Be a client advocate within the Technical Product Center
  • Support marketing communications on product positioning and outbound messaging
  • Develop product presentations, solution briefs and interactive demos. Provide demonstrations and training to internal staff on upcoming functionality.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors' degree in Computer Science or related field or extensive work experience within the defined job responsibilities with proven success
  • 5+ years of experience in systems analysis and / or requirements management within a commercial software environment
  • Prior Web Application design / development experience a plus
  • Demonstrated success regarding the aforementioned responsibilities
  • Previous experience in or working knowledge of business performance management / strategy execution, balanced scorecard methodology, Six Sigma and/or Human Capital Management is a plus
  • Strong, proven User Interface design skills
  • Track record of strong collaboration with cross-functional teams leading to successful product releases
  • Work experience with the Rational tool suite (specifically RequisitePro)
  • Experience developing Use Cases and Workflow diagrams
  • Proficient in MS Project, Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Visio
  • Strong ability to work with a highly-technical development team
  • Excellent customer relationship management and facilitation skills
  • Very organized, process-oriented, yet flexible as needed – able to adapt in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment
  • Extremely strong Project Management skills expected
  • Excellent written and verbal skills and the ability to communicate effectively across diverse groups and management levels
  • Creative thinker and problem solver
