(www.activestrategy.com) the leading provider of complete Enterprise Strategy Execution solutions, announced that its client, Palomar Pomerado Health (www.pph.org), a leading health system based in southern California, was recognized with a Bronze Award by the California Awards for Performance Excellence (CAPE). The California Council for Excellence (CCE), which administers the CAPE Award, models it after the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, a prestigious prize that recognizes U.S. organizations for their achievements in quality and performance.

Denise Shields, Chair of the CAPE Award stated “The Baldrige Award at both the state and national level have the same criteria. The criteria are rigorous and organizations that apply are putting themselves through the most respected and demanding filter in the country.” The CCE will present Palomar Pomerado Health with a Bronze Award at the 13th Annual Conference & Awards Ceremony to be held on Friday, April 6 in San Diego.

Both the Baldrige and CAPE Awards recognize organizations that demonstrate an ability to focus and align all employees and efforts in order to achieve strategic priorities. Palomar Pomerado Health credits their Balanced Scorecard management framework – which was developed, deployed, and automated in ActiveStrategy Enterprise software – with helping to create and maintain this focus and alignment.

With a service area of over 800 square miles, Palomar Pomerado Health is the largest healthcare district in the state of California. PPH serves its communities through two hospitals, Palomar Medical Center in Escondido and Pomerado Hospital in Poway, two skilled nursing facilities, an ambulatory surgery center, in and outpatient behavioral health programs, and a home health agency.  The district also partners with community based healthcare advisory councils to design and implement health and wellness programs.
