Orlando, FL - May 7, 2008 - ActiveStrategy, Inc. the leading provider of Enterprise Strategy Execution software and consulting, announced today that its client, the Orange County Clerk of Courts (OCCC) (www.myorangeclerk.com) received the prestigious Florida Governor’s Sterling Award, an honor that recognizes Florida companies for organizational performance excellence. Florida’s award is based upon the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and is one of the most active of the state quality award programs.

The Florida Sterling Award recognizes organizations for their achievements in quality and performance excellence and is based upon these criteria: leadership; strategic planning; customer and market focus; measurement, analysis, and knowledge management; human resource focus; process management; and business results.

Orange County Clerk of Courts, based in Orlando, Florida, manages the information of the county justice system and provides other public services for the community. In 2007, their 600 employees processed more than $232 million in cash receipts, docketed more than 7.5 million entries in court files, and handled approximately 47 million file pages.

Quality and efficiency have always been paramount to the organization, but the OCCC leadership believed that they could improve in these and other areas. To help identify specific opportunities for improvement, OCCC embarked upon a journey to achieve performance excellence, guided by the Sterling criteria. This journey began in 2005 with an assessment, conducted by ActiveStrategy, which helped the organization develop a roadmap for improvement. The journey has involved improvements to their strategic planning process, enhanced strategy deployment capabilities, improved ability to learn and address customer needs, better organizational alignment, systematic operational reviews, and focused improvement efforts.

ActiveStrategy has provided consulting and training assistance for many parts of the OCCC journey, as well as ActiveStrategy Enterprise software, which OCCC has used since July of 2006 to help communicate, review, and manage strategic information. OCCC’s leadership conducts regular business reviews of various levels of Balanced Scorecards within ActiveStrategy software to ensure that the organization’s journey toward performance excellence stays on track.
