Harrisburg, PA – September 9, 2008 – The Keystone Alliance for Performance Excellence (KAPE) announced today that its Third Annual Performance Excellence Conference and Awards Banquet, sponsored by ActiveStrategy, is scheduled for September 22 and 23, 2008 at the Holiday Inn Harrisburg East. ActiveStrategy CEO Jack Steele will lead an Afternoon Breakout Session at the conference entitled “How to Drive Organizational Alignment to Strategy via Balanced Scorecards.” This presentation will include practical pointers from the former Baldrige Examiner on ways to build an effective operational framework for executing strategic plans. The session will take place on September 23 at 1:45 p.m.

Joining ActiveStrategy executives at the conference will be leaders from 2007 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Recipient organizations, including:

• Dan Gross, Executive Vice President, Hospital Operations, Sharp HealthCare (Healthcare Recipient)

The Keystone Alliance for Performance Excellence (KAPE) is a nonprofit, exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Federal internal revenue tax code and organized under Pennsylvania law. It volunteers are committed to assisting Pennsylvania organizations with improvement of their results by using the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence.

The criteria are established by the U.S. government to improve performance and competitiveness and to recognize high performing organizations annually. To that end, KAPE also offers the Keystone Award for Performance Excellence that recognizes high performing organizations in Pennsylvania.
