San Francisco, CA – September 18, 2008 –ActiveStrategy announced today that Kacie Meyer has been appointed to the California Council for Excellence Board of Examiners (CAPE.) The California Awards for Performance Excellence program offers organizations three stages of assessment and feedback: The California Challenge, The California Prospector and The Eureka Award and U.S. Senate Productivity Award. Each Award tier uses the most current criteria from the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award program.
Examiners such as ActiveStrategy’s Kacie Meyer are selected by the CAPE Council on a competitive basis. Factors considered in their selection include:
- Expertise in business, manufacturing, non-profit, government, education, military or healthcare management, processes, and results
- Knowledge of practices and improvement strategies leading to performance excellence
- Length, breadth, and types of experience
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Leadership and interpersonal skills
- Education and training
- Achievements and recognition
- Sector coverage and balance for the entire Board
“We’re pleased to share the news of Kacie’s appointment to the prestigious CAPE Council and are proud to have her on our team,” commented Jack Steele, Chairman and CEO of ActiveStrategy. “As a former Baldrige Examiner myself, I know that this appointment is both an honor and a big responsibility.”
Examiners contribute significant time to the California Awards for Performance Excellence – as many as 20 days or more a year. In addition to significant training, CAPE examiners review, provide comments, and score written applications. Selected examiners participate in consensus evaluations, conduct site visits that are led by Senior Examiners, and prepare feedback reports to applicants.
“I am delighted to have been selected as a CAPE Examiner and look forward to reviewing my first application. I know I will gain a tremendous amount of knowledge through this process, but Im even more excited about being able to contribute to the incredibly valuable feedback the CAPE applicants receive. This feedback helps organizations drive performance improvements for years to come,” explained Meyer.
