Presents Enterprise Strategy Execution Case Studies and Keys to Success
EAST NORRITON, PA (July 19, 2002) -- Jack Steele, Chairman and
CEO of ActiveStrategy, Inc. (www.activestrategy.com), presented a paper
entitled, “Beyond Performance Management: An Expanded Framework to Achieve
Business Results” to the Performance Management Association’s PMA 2002 event.
Delivered to an audience of the world’s leading academic researchers on the
topic of performance management, Mr. Steele outlined the Enterprise Strategy
Execution (ESE) management process, its proven successes in the business world,
and the key challenges to achieving business results.
Mr. Steele’s presentation argued the effectiveness of the ESE five-step
management process that includes the creation of strategy, deployment of
strategic objectives and measures, alignment to core business processes,
reporting on progress, and the creation of improvement actions to drive results
-- in a single, closed-loop system. The presentation examined the success of ESE
at Merrill Lynch Credit Corporation and Chase Manhattan Bank, where Mr. Steele
consulted. As a key conclusion, the presentation set forth the four key
requirements necessary to successfully execute organizational strategies:
ensuring accountability, achieving deployment of the translated strategies,
driving action to improve poor performance, and improving access and delivery
of data.
“The PMA forum offered the unique opportunity to present with the leading
academic performance management thought leadership, such as Robert Kaplan and
Baruch Lev” stated Jack Steele, Chairman and CEO, ActiveStrategy, Inc. “By
emphasizing the viewpoint of a business practitioner into the overall program,
I was able to reinforce the focus of the audience on the fundamental reason for
implementing a strategy execution system -- the achievement of business
results.”
