Jack Steele

Chairman, CEO & Visionary

Jack is not just ActiveStrategy’s visionary–he’s a strategy and performance management guru who is absolutely passionate about getting clients results. In addition to being a former Baldrige examiner, to date Jack has helped organizations achieve four Baldrige Awards, six Baldrige site visits, two Deming Prizes, at least a dozen state-level Baldrige Awards, as well as breakthrough results for too many companies to name. Jack first became a practitioner of performance excellence, Balanced Scorecards, and strategy management more than two decades ago, when he contributed to Florida Power & Light’s Deming Quality Management Award win in 1989, making Florida Power & Light the first company outside of Japan to win this prestigious prize. Since then, Jack has applied strategy management and performance excellence methodologies in other executive and consulting positions, leading in several cases to doubled revenue, profits, and total market value.

Jack’s degrees in Industrial and Systems Engineering (from Penn State and University of South Florida, respectively) speak to his focus on building performance that will endure for the long term. Just as an engineer designing a bridge has to consider how it will be used now, as well as how it will need to function for decades ahead, Jack designs and implements strategy and performance management frameworks for the long haul.

Speaking of the long haul, Jack is a co-founder of ActiveStrategy and thus has been with us since before day one. His wide-ranging knowledge, practical experience, and focus on results are baked right into all of our solutions.

Jeffrey Bunting

Founder, President & CTO

Jeffrey is a leading thinker on the future of technology-enabled strategy and performance management. In fact, he was one of the very first in the world to think about improving these types of methodologies through software. His career sprang from the mathematics department at East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania, but he quickly discovered that the applications of math and science were what inspired him. This led him toward computer science and his passion for applying technology has grown exponentially to this day.

Jeffrey’s “Aha!” moment came in 1999 when he recognized that software could accelerate the adoption of, and improve the results achieved from, strategy management and performance excellence.

This epiphany led to his founding of ActiveStrategy. Ever since he conceived of the company, Jeffrey’s creative mind has been behind ActiveStrategy’s progression to its position today as a leading strategy and performance management solutions company.

Though Jeffrey is a technologist at heart, he has that difficult-to-find ability to relate technology to real people and genuine business needs. He’s a compelling speaker and is stunningly effective at communicating complex ideas simply.

Jeffrey’s most recent exploits include executive stewardship of ActiveStrategy’s technology roadmap, the development of our two iPhone-based mobile solutions, as well as in-depth strategic work with healthcare clients.
